For modern robots to perform advanced assembly tasks in imprecise environments, it is necessary to simultaneously control end-effector motion (position) and active forces. However, it is not easy to control the manipulator, without knowledge of the objects, because the dynamics of the object inevitably comes into the overall feedback control system. In this paper, stbility analyses and experimental implementations for force control of one-degree-of-freedom manipulator are presented with consideration given to object dynamics.

It is well known that every Anosov diffeomorphism is quasi-Anosov but the converse is not true ([1]). In [2] and [5], we had necessary and sufficient conditions for a quasi-Anosov diffeomorphism to be Anosov. The aim of this note is to prove the theorem related to the above results.

It is a useful method to study the activity of a green leaf by taking the fluorescence spectra, because the fluorescence spectra give us information about the microstructrures of photosystems in the leaf. We obtained fluorescence spectra of growing camphor tree leaves in vivo using a technique of laser active remote sensing. The appratus is composed of an Ar laser for excitation, and an optical multichannel analyser (OMA) equipped with an optical fiber and an image intesifier (I. I.) for detection. It appears that chlorophyll contained in the green leaf of the camphor tree changes as they grow, because the leaf color considerably changes thoughout their each growth period. Specta of fluorescence were measured by transmission and reflection modes. Two prominent peaks were observed in fluorescence spectra; the peak around 685 nm was ascribed to photosystem II and that around 735 nm to photosystem I, which grew higher with the growth of the leaves of camphor tree. The ratio of the two peaks, F735/F685 was proportional to the amount of chlorophyll contained in the leaves. We conclude that the measurement of laser induced fluorescence is the powerful method for the study of the activity of plants.

Serve plays a very large part in tactics in volleyball. But I think that coaching service tends to be thought lightly today. This report shows the actual conditions and problems of coaching service, on the basis of the result in the questionnaire toward the coaches of the volleyball teams at some high schools.

Responses to the questionnaire on physical fitness and exercise were compared among on 160 male subjects aged 17-18 of years classified into "high", "average" and "low" physical fitness groups in terms of based on self-appraisal. The following results were oftained. (1) The relationship between self-appraisal of physical fitness and health condition, physical fitness and frequency of exercise were significant. (2) 100% of each group recognized in need of physical exercise. "Promoting physical fitness" and "to be relaxed physically and mentally" were most frequently chosen as the expected outcomes of such exercise. (3) More than 70% of the subjects considered their own physical fitness level "dissatisfied" or "awfully". Especially "systemic endurance" and "muscular strength" were most frequently chosen item for each group. (4) As the reasons for not being able to take up more exercise, "lack of fight" and "lack of time" were pointed out most frequently. (5) Many student recognize the important role of physical exercise fot promote one's physical fitness, but the student who really exercise are relatively few. Insufficiency of the cognition is one background of this fact. Then it was concluded that participation to real exercise strengthen the cognition of the role of physical exercise for health.
