1) The author injected into the abdominal cavity of young rats 0.2cc of an emulsion of a nodule of rat lepra, which is suspended with 20 times water. After 8 months in all of 3 cases pathological changes of the eye were observed.
2) In these cases quite severe pathological changes in various visceras were noticed and numerous bacilli in subcutaneous lymphatic glands. The pathological changes in the skin surrounding the orbita were severer than that of the back. This fact indicated that the eye is a place of praedilection of rat lepra.
3) The seat of praedilection of the disease in the eye is as follows-conjunctiva palperae, palpebra, limbus episclerae, conjunctiva bulbi, environs of eye-ball, glandtissue and environs of n. opticus. But no bacilli were found in cornea, tissue of internal eyes and n. opticus. Shortly, pathological changes of the eye were noticed in the eyelid, environs of the eyeball and the surface of the frontal hemisphere of the eyeball. Changes of the eyeball in experimental animals seem to occur in the frontal half of the eyeball as seen in leprous rats or human leprosy and to come continuously from the skin surrounding the orbita, but not throgh the blocd metastatically. The author tested the effect of 2 gold preparations which were made in Japan in several cases of acute leprous iridocyclitis and drew the following conclusions.
1) "Aurothiphenol-m-carbonsaures Natrium (Takeda)" is used in 22 cases, the effect of which is very excellent. Chiefly it is curable for pain of the eye and the n. fasialis(60%), then for the congestion of the eye(40%), but relativ weak for the restoring the visual power(9%). This drug has little by-effect, and when there is seen acut exacerbation of the eye diseases or bleeding of the iris in the course of the injection, it should be careful in the use of the drug.
2) " Gold-Olganosol (Horiba-Odagiri) " is used for 6 cases and brings a little and slowly appearing effect, as it is injected subcutaneously.
The both preparations, however, have brought no effect upon the parenchymatous leprous infiltration of the cornea and sclera.

The author has attempted to measure the reduced blood glutathione (GSH) of lepers by the Iwatake's Method, the result of which is as follow.
1) Amount of GSH of leprosy is smaller than that of healthy persons as shown in table I.
2) A comparison of GSH of each types of leprosy is as follows (II Table).
a) Lepra nodosa as compared with Lepra maculosa 20.3-18.8=1.6 σ= √292+374²=475 significant.
b) Lepra nodosa (female) as compared with Lepra maculosa (female) 19.5-16.1=3.4 σ= √376²+590²=700 significant. and with the others there is no significant variation.
3) There is no mutual relation between the amount of GSH and the conditions of the disease as to progressive or chronic, and the degree of severity or mildness, or as to the body weight, or the number of years since the leprosy has been clinically diagnosed.
4) Amount of GSH of the leprosy decreases in the period of " Erythema nodosum, " neuralgia and "Acuter Schub."
5) Amount of GSH is reduced when the patient has albuminuria or glucosuria, but the decrease of GSH has no value to prognosticate.
6) The change of the amount of GSH of lepers with complications is very variable, and there is no definite tendency of either decrease or increase of GSH (III Table).
7) The amount of GSH does not show any remarkable variation when measured immediately before and after a subcutaneous injection of chaulmoogra oil.
8) There is a tendency of either an increase of reduced blood glutathione of leprosy when infections are made continuously or decrease in those who are not being injected.
9) Therefore, it can be considered that, injection of chaulmoogra oil has certainly the best effects on the amount of the GSH of leprosy.

3) Kial ni havas pli multajn blindulojn en Zensei Hospitalo ol aliaj leprulejoj? La autoro respondas al tiu demando per jenaj faktoj:
a) Ni enprenas pli multajn, pli gravajn C-kazojn ol aliaj leprulejoj.
b) Estas relate multaj blinduloj kiam ili estas enprenataj.
c) La nombro de jaroj, de komenco de lepromalsano gis morto, estas pli kaj plimultiganta proporcie al progreso de hospitalo. Sekve, tie ci restas multaj lepruloj en lasta stadio, enhavante multajn blindulojn. Meznombro de jaroj, de la komenco de malsano gis la morto estas 17 jaroj tie.
4) Nombro de blinduloj en leprulejoj proporcas al la nombro de C-lepruloj enprenataj en unu jaro. Procento de C-tipaj blinduloj kontraiu tutnombro de C-lepruloj estas 15-20%.
5) Kauzoj de blindo estas senvorte cefe lepro 203, ekcepte 2 trahomo, 1 korneo malacio kaj 1 korneito parenhimatoza el ciuj blinduloj en Zensei Hospitalo.
6) Sangoj de blindaj okuloj okazis je 16, 3% ce malsano de korneo, 10, 5% ce malsano de konjunktivo, 8, 0% lagoftalmio kaj 6, 8% ce atrofio okulbulba kaj ftizo. 7) Ekhlindiga ago estas 26-30, mete 34a ago.

The author found a tumor in the size of a red bean 3mm. apart from limbus corneae of episclera of the left eye in a patient who is 31 years old and has suffered from lepra nodosa for 15 years. He found also a new leprous erythema nodosum on the face and limbus of this patient and the tumor of the eye disappeared with the disappearance of leprous erythema nodosum of the face.
He believed that the tumor can radically be distinguished from the genuine leprous nodule or tubers culous tumor.
