In this paper the results of research on study skills for home economics, especially for clothing in elementary school children are reported. The main findings of this research are: 1. Factor analysis revealed four factors named "making," "care," "practicing," and "weaning and choosing." 2. In terms of the "making" study skills, average scores of skill. utilization were high. 3. Differences on average scores for each skill between two groups of children who lived in urban or rural areas were small. 4. Average scores of the girls were higher than those of the boys in each study skill item, especially in terms of "practicing." 5. Children with high scholoastic scores made more use of study skills, especially on "making" and "practicing" skills, than those with "low" scores.
