In a previous work (Part II), the concentrations of ten residual elements (Al, Cu, Co, Cr, Ca, Mg, Mn, Mo, Ni and V) in supposedly pure iron were determined to 1ppm by the powder-d-carc spectrographic method. In this paper the determination of hafnium concentration by the same method is described.Hf II 2861.696Å is found the best out of one hundred and thirty one spectrum lines between 2, 400Å and 3, 500Å, with which the error of determination is less than 10% when the concentration is from 0.001 to 0.5%.The best hafnium line for the ingot sample technique is Hf II 2861.696 A or Hf II 3072. 877 A when excited by high voltage a-carc and Hf II 2861. 696Å or Hf 2820.224Å when excited by spark.
