Spatially and spectrally resolved profiles of emission in an inductively coupled plasma (ICP) have been measured by means of a high speed spectro-video camera constructed for this study. The radially resolved profiles of iron atomic and ionic emissions are clearly observed in the central channel and the toroidal region, respectively. The radial profiles of excitation temperature are obtained from the radial profiles of iron atomic emission. The spatial distributions of effects caused by an easily ionizable element (EIE) are also studied in conjunction with the excitation temperature.
