Lifetime of the
3A
2 electronic state, so-called Kleman's R, S and U states, of CS
2 molecule in the energy range of 28, 000 to 30, 300cm
-1 has been investigated using a pulsed tunable laser of rotational resolution. Between 28, 600 and 29, 800cm-1 many states have lifetime around 1μs, which is shorter than that of the higher V
1B2 electronic state. The lifetime becomes longer out of this energy region and depends on the vibrational state.
