We present the results of an experimental investigation of light emission spectra in the surface spark discharge on ceramics. The initial rise of the light emission in the surface spark discharges of the alumina partly originated in the atmosphere gaseous ions and neutral atoms. After the first rise of light emission, the aluminium ion's emission spectra appeared before the neutral atom's light emission spectra. Emission spectra of AlO molecule are observed during 150-200 μs since the first rise of light emission. We showed the time resolved spectra of these light emissions. We show that it seems to be possible to produce the activating medium of the vapor laser by using this technique.
