Requirements management and development is one of the critical issues among departments in Toshiba Group. However, as types of the issues about requirements differ among business units, we surveyed organizational structure and process of requirements management and development in major business units. We found that their practices can be classified into four patterns and illustrated with two axes. By using those patterns, it enables us to provide strategies that correspond to the business units.

Project managers and members often develop mental health disorders in response to strict management by objective and restrictive rules. Preventing the development of mental health disorders in project managers and members and ensuring that all members are in a state of wellness is essential for the success of the project. In this study, we present the activities conducted at workshops held over the past four years as part of a mental health seminar at the society of project management. Furthermore, we propose the prevention method for mental health disorders for the purpose of realizing a state of wellness in project members.

The "inferential model" is proposed as new communication model replaces "code model" in pragmatics. The inferential model has the concept that inference plays an important role in understanding messages. However in project management studies, little attention has been given to the inferential model. So this paper introduces "inferential model" as a new communication model in project management. The understanding of "inferential model" will help project managers avoid communication gaps and successfully manage communication activities. I expect that more attention will be given to the inferential model in project management study.

We defined the criteria for quantitatively evaluating project risk factors and the competency of the project manager before commencing a software development project with the aim of taking a proactive approach to risk and executing projects efficiently. We also statistically analyzed the relationship between evaluation results and the success of projects to extract the factors affecting project profit, quality, and delivery time. Additionally, by classifying projects according to competency scores of project managers, we extracted project risk factors according to project-manager skills. The results obtained suggest that a proactive approach to project risk can be taken by prior evaluation of the target project and project manager.
