“Recommendation for Detailing and Placing of Concrete Reinforcement” was revised in November, 2010. The aim of this revision is to take the position between “Japanese Architectural Standard Specification JASS 5 Reinforced Concrete Work” and “AIJ Standard for Structural Calculation of Reinforced Concrete Structures”. It provides additional details for both books and show how to make structural drawings for bar arrangement. Also it introduces construction techniques for reinforcement placing. This report describes the key points of the revision.
In order to solve the problems concerning Pumping Concrete, the Research Society of Pumping Technology was established in 2004 in the Kinki Regional Materials and Construction Section in Architectural Institute of Japan, collaborating with Kinki Ready-Mixed Concrete Pumping Cooperative, and has been in continuous operation ever since. This paper reports the results of The 6th Field Experiment extracted from the contents in The 7th Meeting of Research Society of Pumping Technology in December 2010.
This report introduces investigations on unity design method for sections under service loads from pre-stressed concrete members (PC) to reinforced concrete members (RC) using bending moment versus compression force diagram. Main contents are as follows. (1) Design processes for sections of PC~RC can be visualized on bending moment-versus pre-stressing force plane. (2) Equations to estimate relations between pre-stressing force, tensile reinforcement ratio and its stress for pre-stressed reinforced concrete members (PRC) are derived. (3) Practical exercises are presented to understand the design method easily for PC and PRC beam sections.
