    In consideration of the recent trend that concrete has been extensively used for marine equipments, the description of this paper aims at detecting its motive and introducing a trial manufacture of a high-speed motorboat in the study of possibility of lightweight structure with ferrocement which has become useful for small type ships. In order to study how to proceed advancement of ferrocement as compared with the progress of FRP that has been used for boats and ships for the past 10 years, some problems on research and development in this field, are raised. A few literatures with regard to application of prestressed concrete for marine structure of large scale, are also introduced in the last.

    For construction of a bridge, under which traffic is congested, the incremental launching method is advantageous, as a clearance space under the girder can be safely assured to the limit of the road construction law. The Nakatsu Bridge was constructed by the use of the incremental lauuching method with distribution of horizontal reaction, and in the form of three span continuous concrete box girder (46 x 56 x 46 m), crossing over a national road.
    We developed specific shoes which are combined with actual shoes and provisional shoes. By the use of the shoes the bridge was constructed, and during the works the characteristics of the method including distribution of vertical reaction and true vertical reaction in comparison with the designed reaction, were checked.
