The use of granulated blast furnace slag as a mineral admixture of concrete has many merits because it has more freedom of usage, as compared with the use as a slag cement. However, it causes many problematic points to be solved in the construction works. In this paper, these points were mentioned, and the selection of materials, replacement ratio, construction works in general, concretes which need special considerations, quality control and so on were discussed.

We developed new shotcreting system using glass fiber for repair work of concrete structures. Glass fiber reinforced shotcrete by the new system had excellent properties of glass fiber and new shotcrete system was fit for repair work. Then, railroad bridge and railroad tunnel was repaired by new shotcreting system using glass fiber. The outline of new shotcreting system using glass fiber and repair work method including the quality of glass fiber reinforced shotcrete is described in this paper.

This hotel is the high-rise building constructed amid the vast nature in Tomamu, Hokkaido. Skeleton construction had to be executed in winter time so that the completion was in time for the open of the Tomamu skiing ground. Therefore, it became the very important point to be punctual in the execution of winter concrete and the tact execution programme of works. In this report, following items are discussed; 1) The labor-saving for the skeleton related work, 2) The utilization of PC panel facing as a external curing method under the winter execution, 3) The high-rise squeeze pumping over 100m in hight for the first time in Hokkaido, 4) The executing result of concrete according to SEC method aimed at the improvement in the quality of concrete.

A long spanned structure comprised by suspended cable net was adopted for the Auditorium Roof of Hong Kong Cultural Centre to create a huge space. The roof has a Reinforced Concrete Lattice Shell formed by casting concrete around the cable net. This report mainly summarizes the construction of the R. C. Lattice Shell already completed although the internal and external finishing work is now proceeding. To keep the accurate roof profile, adjustable cable anchorages, flexible hanging formwork, monitoring cable net co-ordinates and cable displacement control using ballast blocks were adopted. As a result of the construction a beautiful R. C. Lattice Shell profile was obtained within a tolerance the client had requested us.
