As a new method to simulate non-linear earthquake response of structures, computer-ac-tuator on-line system has been developed at the Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo, since 1971. Detail of the system and examples; response of two-story reinforced concrete frame models and response of equipment anchored on reinforced concrete slab, are described in this report.
P & Z Method is the cantilever erection system with a long erection girder for prestressed concrete bridge, and has various merits campared with traditional systems. For example, we can easily and safely build a long span bridge over a river without temporary jetty. We describe how to erect Tsukiyono Oohashi, the first experience in Japan using P & Z Method, and the new measurement system to control of up-bending for cantilever erection bridge by micro computer.
