The broad organization of information related to the transportation time and the quality of ready-mixed concrete at acceptance is considered to not only contribute to the grasp of actual conditions of concrete in general but also to be of use for various studies. This report presents the results of (1) investigations of the transportation time and the time until placing completion, (2) the average values and standard deviations for each product, and (3) the relationship between fresh properties and compressive strength based on the survey on the actual conditions of ready-mixed concrete for building construction.
Any number of unforeseen problems can occur during the construction of concrete structures, including voids and honeycombs caused by inadequate filling, cracks, and initial frost damage. As the result of inconclusive repair or handling, in not a few instances, these problems develop into initial defects causing anomalies such as delamination and falling off of concrete pieces with the passage of time. Thus it is important to properly handle any problems that occur during construction.
