Beppu Bridge is the concrete arch bridge, with a bridge Length of 411m and a arch span of 235m, Located in the hot spring zone of Beppu city. In the planning, the concrete arch type is selected considering the corrosion atmosphere. And to protect from the corrosive conditions, the following methods are adopted; corrosion allowance for concrete and epoxy mortal lining for concrete surface. In the design, the structural detail for the arch bridge is determined considering the deformation and the bearing capacity of ground foundation which is affected by the decompositional action of the hot springs. As the construction method, cast-in-situ cantilever truss construction method is adopted. The bridge is now under construction. This report outlines the plan, design and construction of the arch bridge.
