In these years the number of aggregate surveys is increasing rapidly, but because of the difference of the survey methods, it is difficult to compare the survey results each other. In this paper many past aggregate surveys classified according to their purposes were put in chronological order and some points to be improved in survey method were shown.

Cement and lime type stabilizing agent have been widely used for ground improvement and environmental improvement in Japan. Kinds and properties of cement type stabilizing agent on the market and properties of the treated soil with them are introduced. Ground improving methods; deep mixing methods, shallow soil stabilization methods, mud treating methods and grouting methods; are explanatory described. Needs for stabilizing material and methods, and recent trend of development of ground improving methods are also described.

In recent years, severe damages of reinforced concrete slabs are frequently observed in Tomei Expressway. In the actual practice of maintenance works for those slabs, we meet many problems such as traffic congestion and quality control, because of increasing traffic volume. Here, we put trial constructions for reinforcing damaged slabs in operation in Tomei Eypressway, the slab thickness increment method, in which steel fiber reinforced concrete with ultra rapid hardening cement is used. This paper introduces the outline of this execution, and shows the data obtained concerning work efficiency and qualities. In addition, effects of this reinforcing method and further application of this method are discussed.

The 30 stories and 99 m tall highrise condominium building in Park City AZUMABASHI is the highest reinforced concrete building in Japan. This building is a frame structure above ground line and was constructed by using SST-R System developed by Simizu Corporation. This report describes the outline of this building and the integrated construction system and the results of quality control of high strength concrete having design strength between 420 kef/cm2 and 360 kgf/cm2.
