Keep step with remarkable progress of mechatronics technology, robots are in the step of practical use in industry. And recently, robots are developed in construction field. In this report, some examples of robotization of concrete works are introduced.

Previously, we carried out experiments concerned with composite arch method. This paper reports on loading test of concrete arch model (span length 11m, rise 2.75m) erected by this new method. Main investigation items are development of cracks, formation of hinges, change of flexural stiffness and structural collapse. Also, the resultants of non-linear analysis before formation of hinges by extended Branson's formula are discussed.

The prestressed concrete high dike around the LNG tank, adopted on Himeji works of Osaka Gas, is about 91 m in diameter and about 14 m in height. It is the biggest prestressed concrete cylindrical structure in Japan. The present report indicates the measures for crack control such as the pipe-cooling, etc, precasting the anchor block of the prestressed tendon and enlarging the reinforcement cage and the panel form to improve accuracy as well as quality.

Collective housings have been under construction in Shirane site Asahi ward Yokohama. The site area is about 3.6 hectare and average gradient of the slope in site is 18 degree. Characteristics of this project are as follows; (1) Large scale housing project, i.e. total floor space of housings: 23600m², number of housings units: 243 units, number of buildings: 17 blocks, (2) using prefabricated precast concrete structure system except for substructure, (3) using soil improvement system together as building foundation, (4) turn key system. This report describes the outline of structural design and execution of construction works concerning with the project.
