It is the well-known fact that the blood groups are to be deliberated on the management of the pregnancy. Though the discovery of Rh factor showed conclusively the result to this problem, regretably in Japan, many obstetricians seem to me to have not enough clinical knowledge of the blood groups. On 153 cases of dtype (Rh negative) mothers out of thousands of the pregnancy managed by our investigation group, the progresses of their pregnancies are reported in this paper. On the cases taken in my hand were managed mainly two pregnancies, at least one pregnancy of one mother by our group and their all other pregnancies also were investigated retrospectively by us from the hemotypological stand-point.
This paper is very significant and peerless in those above mentioned point.
The minimum requirement of the hemotypological management of the pregnancy to be done by obstetric practitioner, are shown as follows:
    1) The blood groups of husband and wife have to be tested at the first pregnancy at the latest.
    2) The blood groups compatibility of the couple must be fully criticized.
    3) When the incompatible pregnancy will be guessed on a couple, the titration of maternal antibodies should be tested monthly at the later half of the pregnancy, at latest since the VIII month of pregnancy.
    4) The last titration should be carried out about 10 days before the expective period of delivery.
    5) The maternal (immune) antibody titer 8 shows a danger signal. Exchange transfusion will be reserved.
    6) Immediately after the delivery, the direct Coombs' test should be carried out against red cells of new born baby. The titer 4 shows a danger signal. The clinical findings will have to be considered. 8 or more requires the exchange transfusion. From the above mentioned results, public medical care institutions should be established, which have effective function for the tests.
