    Recently we have attempted to transfuse P. V. P. solution for 50 emergency cases due to industrial accidents.
    Except for the head injury cases we have used 3.5% solution of P. V. P.. The results are as follows;
    1. Prior to blood transfusion it should be applied for recovery and maintenance of blood pressure.
    2. Reduction of the increased intracranial pressure have been found without remarkable rebound phenomenon in head injuries, in which low molecular solution (6%) was used.
    3. The transfusion should be performed cautiously in cases of chest injuries.
    4. In copious traumatic hemorrhage, it was not effective clinically.
    5. By clinical observations it is concluded that the transfusion had not caused any remarkable changes of the hepatic or renal function, bleeding time and clotting time.

    In order to relieve hypoproteinemia associated with Banti's syndrome and brought about by the application of pump-oxygenator for open heart surgery, Plasmanate (Cutter) has been administered to 3 cases of Banti's syndrome and 2 cases of open heart surgery with pump-oxygenator.
    The effect of Plasmanate on the patients with Banti's syndrome revealed increase of serum albumin, rise of A/G ratio, increase of urinary out-put, and marked improvement of edema following the administration. Administration of Plasmanate was also effective in preventing postoperative hypoproteinemia following open heart surgery with pump-oxygenator.
    Protein fraction of Plasmanate was analysed with the method of paper electrophoresis which revealed 4.8% of albumin on average with no trace of gamma-globulin. Side effect of Plasmanate following the administration has not been noticed up to the present time.

    One of the authors, in his previous paper has reported that, by comparing various methods for examining anemia from a technical point of view, the analysis of blood water content by glass capillary method is most convenient and reliable.
    The object of this work is to investigate the real state of blood offered by the professional donors of a certain district, who have donated their blood for a certain period of time. For this purpose all the professional donors (512 persons) who visited the Nihon-Seiyaku Blood Bank (Yokohama) on a certain day (March 5, 1959) were examined. From this investigation it was found that, the blood water content was greatly increased with resulting anemia, so that it may be stated that the majority of the professional donors were more or less anemic. This fact must be seriously considered from the therapeutic as well as administrative point of view.

    The authors studied serologically ABO-incompatible pregnancies and obtained following results:
    1) By the indirect anti-globulin technique the antibody titer of the incomplete anti-A or anti-B antibody with cord red cells is remarkably lower than that with adult red cells.
    2) Adult red cells of blood group A or B, sensitized with eluates from corresponding cord red cells, react in some cases positively by the indirect antiglobulin technique.
    3) Some evidences that also by the case of anti-A and anti-B antibody, only the incomplete antibody is placenta-transmissible are presented.
