A case was reported of group B, Rh
1Rh
1 (CCDee) woman who produced anti-rh″ (anti-E) and anti-hr′ (anti-c) by incompatible transfusions.
Characterization of the antibodies, performed through dextran-gel (Sephadex G-200) filtration and 2-mercaptoethanol treatment, revealed that anti-rh″ (anti-E) consisted of potent saline active 19S fraction and potent anti-globulin active 7S fraction, anti-hr′ (antic) consisted of less potent anti-globulin active 19S fraction as well as less potent anti-globulin active 7S fraction, and anti-A consisted of moderate saline active 19S fraction and very weak anti-globulin active 7S fraction.
