Bentonite Concrete has superior impermeability, durability and deformability, and hence it is suitable for impervious wall material. In the foundation treatment of TADAMI dam built on gravel riverbed, cut-off wall was constructed with diaphragm wall method in which bentonite concrete was used instead of ordinary concrete for fill material. This report gives the design, construction and investigation process of the bentonite concrete diaphragm wall first adopted in Japan as the cut-off wall for rock fill type dam foundation.
