    In Japan, limestone powder began to be extensively used for selfcompacting concrete and high quality shotcrete. The importance of the use of limestone powder for filler cement having low environmental load must become stronger in the future. The quality standard of limestone powder for concrete (draft) proposed by Technical Committee for limestone powder application was introduced. In addition, this paper describes the physical and chemical properties of limestone powder such as the reaction of limestone powder and C3A with or without gypsum or the mechanisms of fluidity of paste. And Delayed Ettringite Formation was also summarized in the presence of limestone powder.

    Nondestructive testing (NDT) methods are widely expected as one of important techniques for the maintenance of concrete structures. Thinking about the life cycle cost of the structures, preventive inspection which evaluates the deterioration of the structures continuously, will be necessary and NDT will play an importani part. There are many kinds and types of NDT techniques, nevertheless they seem not to be characterized and classified sufficiently. In order to provide good information about the maintenance of the structures, it will be necessary to clarify the practical characteristics of NDT techniques respectively.
