In magnesia-carbon brick, behavir of impurities of magnesia clinker and grahite at high temperature was invesgated.
In aluminium added brick, precipitation of metals, transfer of impurities toward the surface of magnesia grains, and densification of grains occurred because of the decrease of Po2 at the surface of magnesia grains. In the brick made from low purity graphite, however, effect of aluminium was inhibited owing to the reaction between aluminium and impurities.
