To realize the oxidation stability of the immersion nozzle with the silicaless inner porous refractories in preheating
as a basic characteristic, oxidation experiments were performed on the silicaless alumina graphite refractories and the silica-containing alumina graphite refractories at1000 to 1500℃ in air,The results are summarized as follows:
1)Models for estimating the oxidation rate for the alumina graphite refractories were proposed.
2)The oxidation rate of the alumina graphite refractories is controlled by the diffusion of O2 gas through the pores
in the refractories.
3)The oxidation rate of the silicaless alumina graphite refractories is the same as that of the Silica-containing alumina graphite refractories because the oxidation rate of the alumina graphite refractories is not affected by the silica.
