茨城県下におけるある地域の昭和42年から昭和44年の21例の無介助分娩につき, その実態を調査した.その内容を見ると
1) 立会者の内容を見ると, 親, 祖母, 姉等の親類が13例と半数以上を占め, 近所の人が4例, 保健婦が3例, 1例が本人となっている.
2) 母子の予後は, 出産経過良好20例で, 不良は1例のみであった.また児の予後は, 発育良好のもの19例, 新生児死亡2例で, 発育不良0となっている.
3) 無介助分娩となった理由は, 「交通が不便」が最も多く7例で全体の33.3%を占める.
4) 出生児体重を見ると2500g以下の未熟児は1例で, 不明1を除いた20例中の5%にあたる.
5) また今回無介助分娩をした21例の過去の分娩歴についても合せて調査した.過去の分娩の89.2% (74例中66例) が無介助分娩となっている.過去の妊娠回数76, 分娩回数74に対して, 死産1, 自然流産2であった.また既往無介助分娩児, 分娩66例の予後を見ると, 新生児死亡2, 乳児死亡1, エピレプシー1, 歩行発育障害児1であった.

In vitro uptake of tritiated thymidine in slices of human breast tumor tissues was studied by autoradiographic technique. Labeling index was determined as number of labelled cells/ 100 cells. The examined cases were 29 normal breasts, one pregnant breast, 4 lactating breasts, 25 mastopathic breasts, 8 fibroadenomas, 6 giant fibroadenomas and 38 carcinomas.
In normal duct epithelum, the labeling indices varied widely from 0.1% to 9.0% and mean labeling index was 2.7%, whereas the labeling index of atrophic duct epithelium was appearently low. The labeling index of breast tissue in pregnancy was 7.4%, and this value was comparable to the highest value in normal breast tissues. The labeling index of breast tissue in lactation was relatively low. The labeling indices of normal breast tissues related to age showed the peak on the group of 30 to 39 years of age, therefore, that pattern seemed to be proportional to endocrine maturity.
The mean labeling index of mastopathic breast was somewhat lower than that of normal breast tissue. According to the histological patterns of mastopathy, the mean labeling index was 2.2% in blunt duct adenosis, 0.7% in duct papillomatosis, 0.6% in sclerosing adenosis and 0.1% in apocrine metaplasia, respectively.
The mean labeling index of fibroadenoma was 3.1% and the value was lower than that of carcinoma, but higher than that of normal breast tissue. The labeling index of epithelial cells in giant fibroadenoma was higher than that in normal breast. The labeling in stromal cells was also highly noted, unlikely in other breast tissues.
The labeling indices in breast carcinoma tissue were distributed as widely as those in normal breast tissues. The mean labeling index of carcinoma was higher than that of normal breast tissue. According to the histological pattern of carcinoma, the labeling index in papillotubular carcinoma was some what lower than those of the cases with other histological patterns. The labeling in breast carcinoma in early stage was lower than that of carcinoma in advanced stage on respects of tumor size and involved lymphnodes.

The structure of heterophile human red cell antigen of the lipopolysaccharide from 'smooth' (S) strains of Shigella dysenteriae (EW-1) has been investigated.
Glucose, galactose, rhamnose, N-acetylglucosamine and nine oligosaccharides were isolated from this lipopolysaccharide by mild acid hydrolysis. Hemagglutination reaction of anti-Shigella dysenteriae chicken serum with human group O red cells was inhibited by the isolated galactose and the oligosaccharides containing galactosyl unit as the non-reducing end-group.
On the basis of the isolated oligosaccharides, it is proposed that the determinant of human heterophile red cell antigen may have a following structure; (galactosyl-)β-galactosyl-glucosyl-rhamnosyl- (1-3 or 6)-N-acetylglucosamine.

A case of Dandy-Walker's syndrome associated with anomaly of dural sinus, a 19-month-old girl, was reported. She was admitted on 22, Oct. 1968 because of gait disturbance and rt.-ventriculoatrial shunt was performed for the obstructive hydrocephalus caused by a space taking lesion of the posterior fossa.
Suboccipital craniectomy was carried out on 9, Dec. 1968 to verify a cause of obstructive hydrocephalus such as subdural hematoma or cerebellar tumors. In the procedures abnormal suboccipital dural sinus was opened, she became shock state and died three days after the operation.
At autopsy the fourth ventricle was remarkably dilated and showed typical findings of Dandy-Walker's syndrome. Abnormal suboccipital dural sinus was thought either double transverse sinuses or dilated occipital sinus.
There are few literatures describing abnormal suboccipital dural sinuses and no report of the same suboccipital dural sinuses as our case.
