Current brand management put the emphasis on the value design that paid attention to the viewpoint "Differentiation". However, the differentiation makes getting rid of as the result from the price competition difficult. In this paper, we introduce the case of designing brand value based on a new idea. It is "brand value design based on the core competence". In this standpoint, all features that the brand possesses are examined, and consequently, the value that only its company can offer is and there begins to be looking. At the end of this paper, the view of this idea in the future is described.

Robust parameter design attempts to make the design or process insensitive to noise by appropriately choosing levels for the controllable factors. The robustness is achieved by exploiting the controllable-by-noise interactions. However, there exist noise factors which cannot be controlled as levels in experiments. In this article, ageneral methodology is developed for analyzing the controllable-by-noise interactions using linear regression models when noise factors are observed as covariates. This procedure is performed by backward or forward selection of variables in the linear regression model including dummy variables.

Recently, it is one of the important social issues to ensure quality and safety in healthcare. Corresporiding to such the situation, there reappeared to be many hospitals that establish and promote a quality management system in Japan. However, the activities are not working well because many difficulties due to characteristics in healthcare happened. Moreover, what kinds of the difficulties happen is not fully identified. The difficulties may change by the situation and background of the activities in each hospital, so it is necessary to take a case study approach of continuously observing all activities implemented in a hospital and analyzing the detail in order to identify the difficulties. Therefore, this study establishes the structured model of difficulties in implementing and promoting QMS in Hospital A through observing the quality improvement activities based on ISO9001 : 2000 and analyzing the activities date. By utilizing this model, it is possible to easily examine what kinds of difficulties happen in implementing and promoting QMS into other hospitals, and to promote QMS effectively. In addition, as the similarity and difference of the difficulty among each hospital are clarified, the basis to examine a widely applicable model is established.
