Information plays an important role on business today. How to apply an information system to managemant has influence on the growth of company. The information sytem has been developed with the progress of application software, electronic componets, and computers and communications equipments using the components. Its development is also based on the change of economic surroundings and the social needs. And now we are in the period of VAN. In this paper, we introduce the progress of these fundamental technology and describe the backgrounds of the movements of the information systematizing in the business. We emphasize it is important not only to propel the enhanced use of information system but also to defend against the dangers which may happen in the highly developed information society.

It is important to select the standard operators for the purpose of smooth working of a conveyor system which is designed by using the standard time. This paper presents an information theory procedure based on the Kullback-Leibler information for classifying operators in conveyor systems by work measurements. A method of deciding the sample size in work measurements with given risks is also suggested. The recommended procedure is practical and relatively effective.

This paper deals with work load in carrying materials under the condition of hanging them with one hand.Assessments of the work load were made for the heart rate, blood pressure, temperature and feeling of fatigue in ten healthy adult young males when they carrye the seven different materials under the condition of hanging them with one hand. From these assessments, the heart rate, the systolic blood pressure and the feeling of fatigue have been found to be closely correlated with the work load in carrying materials. Judging from these results, the maximum permissible load weight is under 30 or 35% of the subject's body-weight. Necessary rest for overcoming the fatigue increases approximately 23% when the load weight increases by 5%.

In the multi-attribute decision making problem, the weighted sum method, the maximim method and the maximax method are widely known in the literatures. The non-linear model based on the fuzzy integral is the intermediate one of these methods. This model explains the weight of significance of each criterion and the grade of complementary effect or the grade of substitutes for each other. But the identification problem of this model by the gradient search method has much difficulty, since it is a non-convex programing problem and the derivative of its objective function takes a complex form. In this paper, we propose an easy method of the model identification, using a linear approximation and the direct search method.

Corporate appraisal is an important information for the persons concerned in the corporation. This information is thought to be made according to the appraisal purpose. In this study, we regard the difference of appraisal policy by each purpose as the difference of the weight given to the finacial ratios, and quantitatively analyze the ralation between plural purposes. First we collect the corporate appraisal data, obtained by financial ratios, for each purpose, and estimate the parameter by multiregression analysis. Then we culculate K-L information content as the distance between purposes, and also show the position of each appraisal purpose by dimensional scaling.

Survey data are analyzed Hayashi's third method of quantification and cluster analysis, to investigate the relationships between ambiguity in organizational practices and organizational effectiveness. The following main features are suggested : (1) Main organizational effectiveness on ambiguity in organizational practices are flexibility-adaptability and efficiency in organizational level, mutual trust-group harmony-stability in group level, and autonomy-exhibition of ability-development of ability in individual level. (2) Though organizational effectiveness regarding the ambiguity in organizational practices depends on the kinds of ambituigy based on different dimensions of ambiguity, flexibility-adaptability is connected with all kinds of ambiguity based on propensity for non-exclution of ambiguity.

The tables presented in this paper provide critical values for testing simply or partially ordered alternatives about the means of k normal distributions with known variances when k=4 and k=5. They cover some of the cases most likely to be encountered in practice and comprise tables of the critical values of x^^-^2__k when the amalgamation weights are equal.

In the second lecture note, possibilistic models and fuzzy system models based on the logics are explained. There are several modalities in system models where human estimation is influential. Thus, it is necessary to construct system models based on concepts of the possibility and the necessity. In applications, fuzzy mathematical programming, possibilistic linear regression analysis and the decision problem by the evidence theory are described, and the fuzzy inference related to fuzzy logical systems is illustrated. The fuzzy inference has been already used in fuzzy control systems and will be promising in expert systems.
