A multidimensional classification method for predicting the probability of goal attainment in designing work groups was already suggested. The method is called MDCP-I and its role is modeling conditional probabilities for the predicting. The models are used to find directions of the design with an attribute space. The space in which each entity (task et al.) is configured as a point is constructed in the MDCP-I. The space is commonly the multidimensional space. It is inconvenient for finding the directions that the space is multidimensional. This paper suggests a new method from the viewpoint of visualization of the model's properties and the space.

This paper presents a hierarchical approach to plan production in a manufacturing environment that can be modeled in two stages. This paper tries to analyze the interaction mechanisms between the different levels by the following steps : (1) how the length of planning cycle at the detailed planning will affect the shortage of finished products, (2) how the inventory level of part items will affect the frequency of setup, and (3) how the aggregate decisions will affect the average inventory level of finished products. The results may provide the elementary guideline for production planning system.

We have developed a prototype decision support system for strategic planning in business. This system supports man-machine cooperative decisions for ill-structured problems. But users of this system have to represent rules as special formats. It is very difficult to them. On the other hand, problems of management planning have generally rough procedures or steps for solving. In this study, using this structure of the problems, we developed a shell for man-machine cooperative decisions which is easy for users to represent knowledge.

In the majority of previous researches on Kanban system, the leadtime for delivery is treated as a fixed value. In many practical situations, however, the leadtime is likely variable. In this paper, an optimal operation planning of the fixed-interval withdrawal Kanban with variable leadtime is proposed. A cost is incurred for the inventory level less than the safety inventory level, since the risk of shortage of inventory should be considered.Behaviors of the optimal number of Kanbans and withdrawal interval of Kanban are investigated in terms of various parameters such as standard deviation and the mean of leadtime.

A procedure for minimizing the total operating costs in the fixed interval withdrawal Kanban system has been proposed in terms of two decision variables (order interval and container capacity). In the practical situation, however, the transportation strategy between the preceeding stations and the succeeding stations is critical for minimizing the withdrawal cost under the mixed parts delivery. In this paper an algorithm is proposed to determine the suitable transportation strategy among two major categories, depot system and picking up system, as well as the optimal order interval, container capacity and necessary number of Kanbans in the supplier Kanben.

Production and inventory systems are discussed. These systems require stable production and low level inventory. To obtain these objectives a G type periodic ordering system is proposed. This system utilizes a method to smooth the volume of ordering and to control the inventory level by the use of the control parameter G. First, the variance of ordering quantities and inventory levels are formulated as a function of the regulater, parameter G and the running period N. Next, using these results, the system evaluation functions are derived.Last, by using the differential method, the optimal value of G is obtained.

Laboratorial and field studies are carried out to reveal the reasonable work amount for the kind and number of assembly parts. The work amount can be evaluated with the operation time ratio (actual cycle time/normal time) and the velocity pattern. As a result, it is clarified that (1)the assembly time is fairly affected by the kind of parts, and this is confirmed from the difference of the velocity pattern, (2)a correlation is recognized between the operation time ratio and the kind of parts, and a regression line is obtained, and (3)a reasonable work amount can be given by the largest kind of parts per operator, with a criterion for the operation time ratio 100%.

This study researched the relation between the "Ikigai" consciousness and the personality traits in employees. The Y-G personality test was used. The "Ikigai" consciousness in job, home, leisure, and life was detected by the questionnaire through teh ranking and rating methods. The results were as follows : (1) Type"D" was stronger than other types in the "Ikigai" consciousness in job and life.(2) The "Co" scale was significantly and negatively correlated with the "Ikigai" consciousness in job.

Billinton and Kumar presented a technique for computing the steady state availability from a flow graph based on Markov model. This paper presents a simpler method for deriving the formula of the steady state probabilities of the system which satisfies the special two conditions. As an example, the availability analysis of various systems by using the proposed simple method is illustrated.
