In designing or redesigning an effective work group it is indispensable to find out the design goals, that is, to appraise the existing state of work group and assess the possibility for desining. Then we need a procedure to evaluate group characteristics of the individual work group, i.e. the staet of group attribute and group effectiveness. In this paper we analyze some characteristics of the worker group which are recognized as an aspect of the work group, and as a result show some basic requirements for designing. Finally an evaluation procedure for designing an effective work group, which is necessary to expolre successfully the design goals, is shown by the use of characteristics of the worker group.
