In production planning, it is a very important problem how to determine the length of the period to be in time for due dates. In this pater, we propose a way to change planning periods by the transformation of reducing and shifting the length of planning periods on periodic loading system. And then, the formulation is prepared which clarifies the relation anmong the completion time of orders, due date and two parameters which reduce and shift the period. As a result, we disclose the condition of two parameters which is in time for due dates.

One of the most necessay and basic factor is the people's walking speed on the case when we want to design a lay-out of institutions on a pleasure ground. As many people who visit there are groups of families or friends, their members are interfeted each other of their group walking speed. We have tried to measure that speed as one of probabilitic variables under considerations about the constitution of groups, and factors which may influence upon the speed. Our objects of the measurement are groups of visiters at Yazuyuen and at Toshimaen.3 factors which are road conditions (notation A, 8 levels), group conditions(B, 4 levels). and time table(C, 2levels), have been designed in the orthogonal array table L_32 (2^<31>). And then this designed table has been multiplied by the factor of season(D, 2 levels)and pleasure ground(E, 2 levels). Results of measured group walking speeds are as follows : At Yazuyuen, the total mean value of them is 1.039(m/s)and the standard variation value is 0.193(m/s), and at Toshimaen, the former is 1.051 and the latter is 0.211. The statistical distribution of values of group walking speeds is able to consider as the normal distribution in general, but this type gets out of shape at an space of near shops.

This paper presents a method of multidimensional scaling of the fating data measured on rating items which have ordered categorical choices. We propose a model which represents a latent rating structure as association among the rating categories and the rated objects which are the points in a latent space, and give a multidimensional scaling method of rating categories and rated objects by estimating these points from similarities between rating categories each of which belongs to a different rating items each other.In order to validate this method, we use it to setimate the simplest example in which average rate in terms of parallel questions represented in a fewer dimensional space, and, as a result, obtain two dimensional interpretable conifigurations of rating categories.

The job enlargement system and the flow line system are compared and examined based on the assembly time resulted from the number of work stations divided. In this comparison, the theory of the evaluation of an economical work system is proposed. It is composed of the essential operation time, the get-and-place time caused by the different layout, the incidental time and the get and place time caused from the conveyor, and the ratio of line balance effciency. Both systems based on the theory can be evaluated with assembly time per unit ; and the availability of theory is examined by a product. As a result, the economical number of stations divided is confirmed.

Demand seasonally exceeding production capacity can be satisfied producing to stock. In order of to maximize gross profit of multiple-product production, the interaction between production/sales volumes of respective products should be considered as well as the production sequence and the use of overitime production.This study aims at dealing with these problems simultaneously, and establishing production planning method by which profit is maximized within the planning period. This paper introduces the four most basic principles relating to the problem of production and sales in order to clarify them from the viswpoint of marginal analysis.By using these principles, production planning methord is presented for two kinds of proudct wiht the same delivery time and only with regular time production.

The purpose of this paper is to clarify the relationship between visual feeback and eye-hand coordination.The prsesnt study compared positioning movements with and without visions, and three different experimens were carried out. The subjects rapidly moved a stylus from a home position to a target. The first experiment was carried out with the onset of a light. In the second and third experiments, all lights turned off at the start of the movement and turned on again when the movement was completed. A major result of the present study is that there was essentially no difference in accutacy between light-on and light-off conditions in the movements with low ID values.

It has been made clear that there exist serveral basic rules to maximize the profit on producing and selling seasonal goods by a certain plant. Applying these rules, this paper clears first that the differential coefficient of profit on a plant scale decreases monotonously, and then that the optimal solution on the scale can be obtained uniquely, and that the best schedule on producing and selling them can also be determined. This finally presents the algorithm on scaling up the existing plant.
