Based on a concept of "Production Speed", the production time and cost were defined as the functions of production speed, and a production model was built for a single multifunctional facility, in which several operations were performed for the multiple products. Optimal production speeds to be set at operations were thereoretically analyzed under the minimum-cost criterion with due date constrains. In addition, the admissible range of optimal production speeds was analyzed, and the computational algorithm for determining optimal production speeds was developed.

In this paper we consider decision-making problems in a fuzzy environment in which goals and constraints are fuzzy sets in the different spaces. Fundamentally we discuss uncertain problems in which the mathematical model is not defined precisely. Therefore our problem is to select a proper methematical model of a given problem and then to find the solution of the problem in the selected model. We illustrate some applications of a method of systems analysis based on the fuzzy sets theory to the types of humanly-perceived systems whose constrains and goals are subjectively perceived.

The changing of customers' tastes is occurring more and more rapidly due to current economic circumstances. This paper analyzes a model of commodity obsolesence by means of the Markov Process. The model is further investigated by employing the computer simulation technique. Then, through a new definition of "Fresh Index " a detailed comparison is made between two inventory prolicies, i, e., constant cycle ordering plan and (s, S) plan. The following have become clear as a result of the comparison : the optimal ordering point, ordering quantity and ordering cycle can be easily obtained. As for commodities whose"Freshness" is of vital importance in their sale, constant cycle ordering plan is better than (s, S) plan.

The following hypothese were formulated by R. Dubin, 1; M-factors are primarily related to feelings of both satisfaction and dissatisfaction for the job-oriented employees. 2; H-factors are primarily related to feedings of both satisfaction and dissatisfaction for the non-job oriented employees. M. Starcevich concludes that both the job-oriented and non-job-oriented employees want basically the same thing from their job (M-factors). In Herzberg's theory, M-factors are primarily related to satisfaction and H-factors are primarily related to dissatisfaction. This paper examines these conclusions by empirical approach.

A determination of the maximum tradin capacity is studied in this paper. When the distribution of trade size in a period belongs to the exponental family and the number of trade is sufficiently large, the maximum trade size in a period is shown to follow the doubly exponential distribution. For this distribution a method of setting the maximum trading capacity is proposed. The discussion is also developed for the case of containing the cost factor.

In this paper we stdy the small sample properties of estimators of the parameters of a single equation in a linear simultaneous stochastic equations system by a Monte Carlo simulation. The three methods of estimation considered are;ordinary least-squares, two-stage least-squares and limited-information maximum-likelihood. We find the boundary and the conditions necessary for the use of OLS, 2SLS and LIML. Then we consider the estimation error of k-class estimators by small-sigma asymptotics.

The decision problem with N periods, which in the case of N=0 is the same as the decision problem defined by Bellman and Zadeh, has been considered on the basis of a fuzzy similarity relation, and the properties on the optimal pair of decision and goal have been mainly investigated. In this problem it is only necessary to obtain the present optimal pair of decision problems with N periods, since the future optimal pairs are out of the question at present. The future optimal pairs may be decided from the decision problem with N-i periods after i periods.

Results of studies on economical efficiency in the case of making the selection of looms had been presented in the previous reports. In connection with them, the results of economical studies on the size of warp beam are presented. After showing the relation between the size of warp beam and profit obtained by using its beam, the example of LW type loom is reported. In this example the most suitable diameter of beam is 0.7〜0.8m for LW type loom, and the variation of values of parameters has a less effect on it.
