This paper is concerned with numerical determinatin of the number of categories in rating sclaes from the viewpoints of the precision of scale value estimation and the stability of each subject's response. The precision and the stability are estimated for varying discriminal dispersions by means of sensitivity analysis as a computer simulation method. It is reveabled that how to determine the number of categories under the conditions of fixed category boundaries is fairly influenced bythe aptness to answer the quenstionnaries.

In this study, an implementatin system for the Kraepelin test was built using a microcomputer, and an analysis was made about influence of the data input means over the test result. The system could successfully hundle the proceses ranging from an experiment, statistical analysis to characterization. In addition, a new characterization method was derived through the analysis of the correlation of teh results obtained from this system with those obtained from the conventional hand write test. In future, the effect that is given by key operations about the judgement of character and also methods that are used to analyse the tested data must be considered to pursue by much informaiton.

Random Scheduling (RS) and Random Sample Scheduing (RSS) were applied to the static two-machine schedulg problems in minimizing a makespan. It was clarified that RS provided a high degree of approxiamtion in some job-shop cases and that in flow-shop cased, RS did not provie a high degree of approximation but decreased a required number of buffer capacity. A number of samples necessary for making a degree of approximatin in RSS higher than an aspiration level was derived through analytical methods. A new method of RSS was proposed on teh basis of these results and its usufulness was demonstrated through a numerical example.

In this study, the temporary threshold shift of finger-tip vibratory sensatin after vibration exposure is investigated in relation with e frequency, vibration acceleratin level, exposure time and the grip force in clasiping a handle. Three subjects with vibratory sensation were exposed. The age of these subjects ranged from 21 to 24 years of Age. Teh octave band vibration was applied to the right hand through a handle attached to an electro-dynamic vibration exciter for 2.5,5 and 10 min. The threshold of 63,125 and 250 Hz vibratory sensation was measured at every 2.5 dB step at right forefinger-tip before exposure and every minute after octave band vibration exposure. As a resutl, the predicted equations for temporaruy threshold shift of vibratory sensatin were obtained.

In this paper we study on an automatic transfer line system whcih consists of stage 1 and stage 2 branching off sub-stages 21 and 22. In this system stage 1 performs a common operation, but the sub-stages 21 and 22 perform different operations from each other. Then the cycle times in stage 1 and sub-stage 21 or 22 are generally unequal. To analyze the system behavior we consider a Markov model which detects all the system state transistions, and investigate the effects of branch stage on teh maximum production rate.

Non-normal variables sampling inspection plans are obatined by a simple adjustment of the normal sampling plans. The normal sampling plan is adjusted by the skewness and kurtosis of the distribution and adjustment coefficients. These adjustment coefficients are tabulated for various combinations of the acceptable quality level p_0 and the unacceptable quality level p_1. THis adjustment method is based on approximating the standardized deviate of the distribution by a Fisher-Cornish expansion. Effectiveness of the adjustment method is evaluated numerically.

In estimation of the parameter of an exponential distribution, even if no exact data value may be obtained, the interval which contains the true value may be specified. If the number of occurrences of event are counted at regular intervals, the maximum likelihood estimator can be obtained. In this paper, asymptotic inference method for the parameter is presented, and some statistical characteristics of this estimator are simulated in various data collecting conditions. It is seen that interval-data give almost the same estimate as those from complete data.

The author has been analyzing the evaluation method to select the substitutable machine parts material by seizing the aplication trends of the processings on the interposed scales of the factors of materials. The factors of materials are composed of the interval scales, and the qualitative information . Here, the author showed the categorize technique for the interval scale, which applied the tranmsitted inforamtion. However there is no way to realize the difference among the material on the qualitative factors which are given by descriptions or drawings. This paper dealt with the technique to classify the qualitative factors.

It is well known that the problem for improved productivity in Software Production & Maintenance Operations remains to be solved. Therefore, in this paper, as one of the essential subjects about systematization of Software Maintenance Operations(SMO), we mainly consider the standardization of the SMO. Above all, we analyze the structure of the SMO, and then propose a new method of needed man-hour for estimate in the SMO. By using the method and approach obtained here, we can manage efficiently the SMO and also make the improvement of the SMO successively.
