The present study examines the structure of the positioning movement from EMG and acceleration viewpoint. Fifteen right-handed male students served as the subject. Each subject performed 10 trials under each of seven combinations of six target diameters (4,8,16,32,64 mm and infinite size) and infinite size under eye-closed condition. The results can be summarized as follows; (1) movement time and time composition in acceleration pattern are influenced by positioning dificulty, and a large part of movement delay occurred at the fourth phase in acceleration pattern, that is to say, just before the end of the movement, (2) this movement delay was defined as the micro-adjustment time T_c, and its variation for target diameter was described as the function of T_c=0.163D^<-0.524>, and it can be shown as a characterized index of ballistic movement.

There has been virtually no research concerning the order selection systems capable of making use of job shop production in which the length between order arrival and due data varies from order to order. Another basic problem is the conventional view that objective profit cannot be determined for individual roders. This paper considers the order selection of a single-stage process to meet the aformentioned characteristics, and the first decision systems of whether the keeping of due dates by an order acceptance is possible or not are southt. Secondly, profitability decision making system that will allow the recovery of fixed costs while at the same time keeping due dates is proposed. The effect of this is clarified through a simulation using a general model based on a comparison with profitability decisions based on marginal profits.

Conventionally the scaling constants of the multilinear utility function are obtained by solving the set of equatins generated from certainty considerations and probabilistic considerations. In this approach, there are operational problems of how to guarantee that the equations are independent and also how to deal with many independent equations when they are inconsistent. Using Saaty's Eigenvector method, Kamenetzky showed a procedure to assess the scaling constants of the additive multiattribute value function. In this paper, we assume that several typical alternatives without uncertainty can be compared pairwisely by our subjective utility values. And, we estimate the scaling constants of multiplicative value functions or multiplicative utility functions by the Eigenvector method together with the method of least squares.

This study is concerned with how to describe a cooperative robot motion with conveyor system. To describe the cooperative states of the system, the Petri net is introduced. Furthermore, three types of motion are taken with respect to the cooperation. The probabilistic behavior of the system is analysed in terms of Markov renewal process. With numerical examples, the behavior of the system caused by the irregular robot motion is shown by comparing the two cases : the mean motion time intervals of two robots are specified and not specified.

From the viewpoint of keeping the stability of the production, especially the stability of the workforce level, a new goal programming formulation for the aggregate production planning problem of a two stage production system within uncertain production environment was built. A hierarchical decomposition solution algorithm to solve this problem was proposed. A numerical study showed that this formulation gave more stable workforce level and smaller inventory than the well known Chance-Constrained Programming formulation for an uncertain demand forecasting. Through a numerical study, the properties of the decomposition solution algorithm were investigated.

It is supposed that the lot quality is evaluated by the minimum value in the lot and the quality characteristic is distributed by exponential distribution with location and scale parameters. Both cases where scale parameter is known and unknown are considered. In unknown scale parameter case, the scale parameter is estimated from the first stage sample, and the total size of sample is determined on the basis of that estimate. Then the total sample size and also the OC function are random variables. Utilizing this prperty of OC function, three types of two stage sampling inspection plans are constructed by Expectation Method, Probability Method and Median Method.

This paper is concerned with a multidimensional scaling method for data measured with rating items which have an ordered categorical choice. We propose a probabilistic model which represents a latent rating process as association among the rating categories and the rated objects in a latent rating space. We give a maximum likelihood estimation method of conceptual map of the rating categories and rated objects. As an example of validation of this method, we use it to estimate numerical examples and field data. As a result, this method gives configurations which have the meaning of distance between the rating categories and rated objects.

The utilization of a Flowshop Type FMS is affected by transfer speed of jobs. This effect is analyzed through some simulation experiments. It is clarified that, when the value of transferred time of palletized jobs around the pool line is less than a half of the mean processing time, the decrease of the utilization caused by the limited transfer speed is smaller than 5% of the utilization of the FMS with infinite transfer speed. An application of this result to a typical FMS model shows that if the transfer speed is greater than 8m/min, then it is not necessary to consider the above effects of transfer time.
