This paper deals with an infinite horizon lot-size scheduling problem, in which multi-items are produced with a single machine. In this problem many kinds of solutions have been pursued by heuristic methods usually in a class of cyclic policies. We formulate this problem in an integer programming model.By modifying it into a dynamic programming type model, we can show that an optimal one in a class of cyclic schedules. The fact gives a theoretical basis for most heuristic approaches which only consider a class of cyclic ones.

An optimum schedule derived by using the Johnson or Jackson rule requires too lage an amount of buffer capacity ot operate a 2-machine FMS.NAGASAWA et al. clarified that a "decomposition scheduling method"reduces the required buffer capacity wihtout loss of optimality. In this paper, this decomposition method is appliedto the flowshop type FMS with more than 2 machiens.A new concept, "ε-scheduling horizon, "is proposed to determine the number of jobs for obtaining a solution with a required accuracy ε.Using this concept, the condition is obtaiend to make the method useful and a procedure is proposed for specifying the number of jobs.

The purpose of this study is to develop a potentiometric device for recording the thre-dimensional handwirint motion. The potentiometric device used three precision potentiometers, and it consisted of two single-turn potentiometers and a linear motion potentionmeter.A stylus or a ball-point pen was installed on the tip of the shaft of the linear motion potentiometer. Each potentiometer gave the electrical output signals corresponding to X, Y and Z coordinates and recorded the displacement of hand movement. From the comparison between the known coordinates and the measured coordinates, the mean error rates indicated 2.22%, and the device was found capable of being utilized for analysis of hand writing motion.

We analyze the irregular fluctuations in financing fund in time sequence by using a multidimensional autoregression model in which the corporate appraisal by banking organs and general investors is embodied. The irregular fluctuations in financing fund consist of the random fluctuations and the trend which hte assets situations produce. It will be regarded that the random fluctuations are produced by the restrictions lying outside the firm and the relations between fund sources.By using the model we can analyze the finantial behavior and also estimate the future capital raising.

This paper aims to study the mathematical relationship between the factor of distance and agglomeration economy in the location theory.First, two kinds of the nearest neighbor distances are derived.Second, the model is formulated for investigating the relationship between the distance measure and the index of agglomeration economy.Last, the usefulness of this model is demonstrated by some numerical examples.

Demand seasnally exceeding production capacity can be satisified by producing to stock. In order to maximize gross profit of multiple-order for one type of product, the interaction between production/sales volumesof respective orders should be considered as well as the use of overtime production. This paper aims at dealing with these problems simultaneously, and establishing production planning method by which profit is maximized within the planning period.

A multi-item inventory model with one restriction is discussed. In this model, the demand for each item is probablistic, and the costs of shortage, surplus and holding stocks are included. The optimum quantities of inventory to hold for each item which maximize the expected profit are determined. In this analysis, we introduce a concept i.e."expected unit-profit comparison function, " and the basic conditions which must satisfy for the optimal stock levels are found out.Furthermore, the case of uniform distribution is analyzed, and the stock levels and the expected profit are shown as functions of the stock capacity restriction.

In this study, Cost-Volume-Profit analysis in which the time value is cnosidered is applied to a small hydro-(electric) power project which is characterized by its very small variable cost ratio. And a method of CVP analysis and a sensitivity analysis are provided, and the average profitability for a long period is analyzed using the actual small hydro(electric) power data.

In this paper, we discuss a way of shopping district improvement by analysing teh factors of consumer satisfaction in relation to local attachment using the result of a consumer research. As a result, 5 consumer satisfaction factors for shopping district are presented, which are liberty, amusement, choice, safety and innovativeness. And other findings are as follows : the consumer who does not have much local attachment is relatively less satisfied with the neighboring shopping district, and to increase his satisfaction, it is important to improve the factor liberty or safety in that district.
