Small group activity in Japan was introduced from the United States as QC circle, ZD movement and the like, but it has developed into a Japanese style form contributing much to the management of enterprises. Based on human motivation theory, the principles to activate small group activity is suggested on which a new diagnosis of small group activity is proposed here It is consisted of checklist and raderchart. The factors to activate small activity effectively have been obtained in terms of multivariate analysis for data from the new diagnosis.

The loading rate of production facility is generally disregarded in the economic analysis for the investment, but this rate effects certainly on almost all factors concerned with this analysis. This paper shows that the ratio of operational cost to capital cost is most dominant factor in the choice of loading rate through the theoretical study on the relation between the loading rates and the main segments of cost in the use of production facility.

In case of making the selection of looms, profits are usually calculatedby the estimated values of concerned factors. These factors are classified into four categories : fixed cost, variable cost rate, selling volume and selling price. When two types of loom are compared, we have two cases. The one is that in spite of growing worse in these factors, the superiority in profits or robustness is not gone into reverse, and the other is either going in reverse or not. In this report, these cases are researched and examples of loom are shown.

Many companies operating in developing countries under the regulations by Local Manufacturing programs are facing a new set of decision making problems. The previous reports of this research examined two basic problems namely "optimum selection of the localized parts "and "determination of the optimum product mix "from local firms' view point. This paper firstly reexamines those problems from the view point of advanced firms, or exporters CKD sets. Then an approach to adjust the conflict on profit between the two sides is proposed.

A new test of fit for the doubly exponential distribution with unknown parameters is proposed. This test, based on sample entropy, has the desirable properties compared with several nonparametric tests and the Mann test. The propoosed test statistic is easily calculated by use of the minimum variance linear unbiased estimator andcan beapplicable to the censored samples.

It is debated that marketing behavior should proceed under new recognition of consumers as "consumer=citizen" based on the necessity for realizing the real consumer orientation. In this article, the importance ofits understanding is stressed with respect to the consumer=citizen related to products and market. So we take note ofnon-purchasing behavior in which character of citizenery appear remarkably. We observe consumer=citizen dynamically through examining Non-User problems, and by that we investigate directions and take future implications for marketing behavior.

To efficiently manage business information which is heterogeneous is one of the important tasks in business management field. Database has growing popularity as a solution to it. But it is expensive for a small application or an experimental use. This paper presents an Associative Informatiion Model which is based on associator. Database-like features can be compactly obtained with this model. Associators are the units to storing mappings among simple symbolic informations or their structures with hash function for quickness. Furthermore, by linking associators as linked list, arbitrary information structure can be built on them. This mechanism can be commonly used. And it is easy to implement it. As an example, this model has been built on the Lisp machine named ALPS/I, our original computer, and some applications are shown in this paper.

In order to decompose the overall performance measured by total opportunity loss of an organization into departmental performances measured by partial opportunity losses, profit differences derived from five profit concepts for the most general case are defined. The implications and interrelations of these differebces are examined. And of these, four differences (partial opportunity losses) are identified as those which can be utilized to make the decomposition. After examination of difficulties of the four decomposition formulae utilizing only two of the four partial opportunity losses, the "comprehensive decomposition formula" utilizing all of the four partial opportunity losses is introduced to successfully oversome the difficulties.

A reliability and maintainability analysis of structural system based on the Monte Carlo simulation technique is presented. Cyclic load acts on the structural system which is constructed by some sub-systems. Pre-existing cracks in a sub-system grow up under cyclic loading, and failure of sub-system occurs when the length of crack reaches the critical length. The structural system is subjected to periodic non-destructive inspection. If a crack is detected during the inspection, repair or replacement of the relevant member renews the structural strength. Some models for the analysis are given and analyzed, and also effectiveness of peiodic inspection is numerically recognized.

In short-range forecasting of demand by time seires data should be treated by the additive-type forecasting model after some suitable transformation. The authors have proposed an estimation method of the power transformation parameter by likelihood function in the multiple regression model, where the regression errors are assumed to be normally distributed. However, the assumption of normality is often unrealistic in the practical situations. This paper deals with an estimation method of the power transormation parameter by AIC derived from the postulation that the errors follow non-normal distributions, e.g, exponential power distribution and contaminated normal one.

In the prefabricated concrete panel production, both the panels of special item ordered y a customer and a standard item are produced through the same process, where each metal form is required to produce each panel. The former cannot be produced until the order arrives, while the latter is produced with the forecasting information. In this paper, we develop a simple model of such production systems and analyze experimentally the relation between the parameter indicating the number of adding forms and average utilization of the form for standard item, average process utilization, and average shortage for requirement levels of standard item. Therefore, the experimental approximate equations for average utilization of the form and average process utilization are presented.

A procedure for evaluating economy of production systems which produce strictly seasonal product is presented by using break-even analysis. Considering not only fixed costs and variable costs but also semi-variable costs which depend on the production volume and the operation planning, relations between the production volume and semi-variable costs are analyzed and equations which attain the break-even point and the goal profit are formulated. Also a numerical example is presented to explain the procedure proposed.

Given capacity of a manucacturing plant, numerous studies have been presented in the fields of scheduling and inventory control. This paper attempts to determine the most profitable scale of a plant in its construction planning stage taking account of selling price, costs of construction, production and inventory when there is seasonal fluctuation in demend. The demand pattern which is underconsideration is such that it changes from low rate to higher level within a given period which repeats itself. The optimal solutin is obtained and the graphical interpretation of it is shown.

To attain a department goal, the manager of the department needs to select some projects and assign the goals to each project. The persons in charge of the projects make their effert to bring the performance close to their goals-ordered. So, the manager has to estimate the distributions of performance about the projects under the goals-ordered. In this paper, we describe the result of the experimental study on the effect of goal instruction to the distributions of work performance in case of individual handprocess.
