    A reverse hysteresis circuit adopted for several on-off control systems in order to obtain better control characteristics yields the following conclusions:
    1) A reverse hysteresis acts as if it were a PD or phase advance circuit when it is applied to an on-off control system.
    2) A simple relay logical circuit can be used for this purpose.
    3) An equivalent phase advance characteristics having a large time constant can be obtained and yet noises are not amplified.
    4) Suitable for a simple position control as the phase advance circuit can be made even though controlled variable is not transduced into electrical signal or pneumatic pressure.

    The temperature difference of wet and dry bulbs of a psychrometer is independent of the change of air flow velocity if in more than a certain limit of the velocity, which is dependent on the structure of the psychrometer. Described in this paper is a new psychrometer of small air flow velocity limit (ca. 0.6m/s).
    In this psychrometer, a thermopile is attached to a thin long rectangular mica plate, one end of which is covered by a piece of wet gauze. The plate is placed in a pipe with reflective inside surface. Radiation shelters are put parallel to this thin plate thermopile.
    Air flows from dry end to the wet end of the plate. The temperature difference of the two ends is measured by the thermopile and the air temperature by a thermistor.

    This paper proposes a new method for obtaining a variable long time delay by using a relatively short time delay line, and describes an experimental device made. The device is useful for constructing a real-time process model or an automatic on-line correlator for determination of process characteristics.
    An analog signal is sampled at the periods of T seconds and is sent to the device as a digital signal consisting of serial pulses. Only at every sampling instant, the sampled input is written into the delay line. In the other time, the write head is connected directly to the read head so that the signals circulate round in the delay line. Let the delay time be of D seconds, and the signals be taken out of the line after k times circulation as the output, kD seconds dilayed signals are then obtained. Let the memory capacity be of n words, one word time length of τ seconds, and the sampling periods T of mτ seconds where the two integers n and m have no common divisor. The maximum circulation number is then m, and the delay time ranges from D seconds to mD seconds.
    In the experimental device made, a commercially available magnetic tape recorder with both.a write and a read heads giving 0.2 s delay was used. The sampling period ranges from 2 ms to 1.022 s and the maximum time delay from 0.2 s to 102.2 s correspondingly.

    Monte Carlo method recently has been in the limelight as a very useful method to solve problems of operations research and other fields. In order to effectively apply Monte Carlo method, it is indispensable to generate high speed random numbers which can be easily generated from binary random numbers. One of the practical and very useful methods to get them is to use as the random numbers' sources the physical fluctuation phenomena such as noise. In this paper, using the binary random numbers' checker, the statistical properties are investigated on the high speed binary random numbers' trains. The radom pulse train, which is used to generate binary random numbers and which has long been believed to follow the poisson distribution, is proved, if strictly speaking, to follow other distribution than the poisson distribution. So, new distribution is assumed for the random pulse train and experimental and theoretical values are discussed under this new assumption.

    This paper deals with the frequency response characteristics of the feedback systems, the forward element of which is a three position relay with differential gap and the feedback element of which is a monotonous lag element such as first order lag 1/1+Ts or second order lag I/ (1+T1s) (1+T2s) Dynamic characteristics of the systems as automatic controllers are discussed in connection with the relay thresholds and feedback time constants. Controllers of this type behave similarly to PD Controller in a certain low frequency region (less than a half of the cut off frequency of feedback element) and the D. C. gain of the controllers increases with the magnitude of input.
