In accordance with the remarkable progress of the technical side of the recent electronic engineering it is desired to develope a new system of directly reading the secondary quantities of the phase quantities (phases, electric loss tangents, electric power, etc.) so as to satisfy the increased requirements of measuring them more precisely and rapidly in wide frequency bands. Realizations of these equipments should play important roles in the fields of precise elucidations of electrical properties of newly developed electronic material parts, proper selections, deterioration tests of them, precise measurements of various kinds electronic circuits, etc.
Primarily, the author has developed a cathode ray tube direct reading wattmeter available to measure trackingly the high frequency power changing moment by moment towards the load, only by adjusting the phase shifter. Secondarily, a new system of phase comparison was devised mainly for the purpose of a precise direct reading of minute dielectric loss tangents such as of dielectrics.
Then a system of autmatic recording and direct viewing of dielectric loss tangent frequency characteristics by using automatic control technique was made possible.
Besides this analogue system, the author introduced a digital measuring apparatus such as a high precision broad band digital phase-meter using relative counting A-D conversion system.
In this paper the results of a series of these researches are summarized and the analyses and applications of this system to this measuring instruments are discussed.
