Some observations were made on 18 cases of hemorrhagic conditions of vocal cords. These cases were classified into two types; angiodilatation type and hematoma type. In former type the surface of vocal cords is rather white and tortuous blood vessels with petechiae are visible on it clearly. This type usually occurs on both vocal cords.
In typical hematoma type, bleeding of the vocal cords are seen in full of the Reinke's space. The type occurs mostly on unilateral vocal cords. All 18 cases were women. 5 cases of them were under 40 years old and 13 cases were over 40 years old.
As the cause of bleeding, authors discussed the estrogen activity of these cases and moreover the relation between hematoma type of bleeding and production of vocal cord polyp.

The bronchial scrubbing method under artificial pneumothorax technique was studied as the diagnostic method for the bronchoscopically invisible lung cancer. 17 of 20 lung cancer cases (85%) were cytologically positive, 9 of these 17 cases were positive only by this method.
Many lung cancer cases restricted the stenotic or obstructive movement of bronchi seen at the time of lung collapse.
The scrubbing brush is easily inserted into the lesioned bronchus under this condition.

I have studied the esophageal motion and gastroesophageal reflux by means of an electric inner-pressure curve and pH-metry of esophagus.
The present paper concerns to the investigations of the diagnosis on postoperative reflux esophagitis. The electric inner-pressure and pH curve were recorded by means of an multiplx moniter recorder combined with a transducer and antimony electrode.
These methods are beneficial on researching the mechanism of disturbance of deglutition and has a great significance as a diagnostic tool.

The patient was admitted, and received a series of the preoperative examinations and treatments for improvement of her general condition. The patient, however, died of cardiac failure accompanied with high fever of unknown cause. Postmortem disclosed Hürthle cell tumor in the right lobe of the thyroid gland.
