Clinico-statistical observation of the endoscopy during the past 7 years (from 1963 to 1970) at the department of bronchoesophagology in Osaka Redcross Hospital were made and reported the foreignbody cases during that period. The total number of the endoscopy was 1006 cases (_??_ 629 _??_ 377) and among that cases about 450 cases were bronchoscopy and esophagoscopy and about 100 cases weve direkt laryngoscopy.
About 40% of total number were over 51 years of age and the sex ratio in that age was with males prependerating (7: 3).
About 60% of foreign body cases were under 5 years of age and in trachea pins and beans were most frequently seen and in esophagus coins were most frequently seen.

A clinical and virological study of 4 cases of acute laryngotracheobronchitis is presented with a brief discussion.
Clinically acute laryngotracheobronchitis is a progressive disease with downward spread of the infection in the respiratory tract.
Rising antibody titres to influenza viruses were observed in all three patients examined, suggesting strongly an etiological association between these viruses and acute laryngotracheobronchitis.
A characteristic feature is the production of a tenacious exudate and crustig from subglottic tissues to the bronchi. This is diagnostic. Tracheotomy is often required for a relief of dyspnea, being preferable to intubation.

A cured cases of caustic esophagitis. A male infant of twenty-three months swallowed in accidentally sodii hydroxidium and was immediately treated at his neighbouring hospital. And he left the hospital after eleven days. About one month later, he was admitted to our Kosei Chuo General Hospital, because of the esophageal stricture. He was treated conservatively and the main medicine prescribed were adreno-cortico hormones, antibiotics, and intra-venous transfusions. It took 48 days stay in the hospital until he recovered completely from his illness. And we described special effect of adrenocortico hormones for such a caustic esophagitis, especially in its early stage.

The use of radiopaque medium for purpose of diagnosis of radiolucent material lodged in the esophagus has been discarded because the medium so obscures vision that examination and removal of the foreign body are almost impossible. In our practise with Barium sulfate, hazards were not as much excessive as it was thought.
The authors experimentally investigated that the use of Gastrografin gave us no trouble for the removal of the foreign body even immediately after fluoroscopic examination, and the authors presented few cases in this report
