We prospectively developed a method to evaluate difficulty of cholecystectomy using ultrasound. Ten points scoring was done with 6 indexes : (1) collective portion of left and right hepatic ducts, (2) common hepatic duct, (3) common bile duct, (4) pancreatic head, (5) general appearance of gall bladder, (6) wall thickness of gall bladder. The total points above had close relationship with the time of operation. This evaluation of the inflammation and adhesion around gall bladder in advance may give surgeons important information on what type of operation should be chosen.
