This paper identifies the factors that promote or hinder the competitiveness of platform businesses in their maturity stage (mature PF), by platform type. Through a literature review, this paper analyzes the differences in the characteristics of users and complementors along the types of PFs, and finds that each promoting and hindering factor and how to deal with them differs by type of PF. In addition, this paper points out the existence of social media-type PFs that have not been sufficiently examined based on their characteristics in existing studies, and proposes a future research agenda for this subject.
