The allergic changes of the nasal and paranasal mucous membrane had been caused by repeated injections of egg albumin into the maxillary sinus of guinea pig twice a week, and the changes had been modified through mixing with histamine or hyaluronidase in the egg albumin and intramuscular injections of DOCA or cortisone.
    The results as follows.
    1. The exfoliations of the epithelium of the mucous membrane were recognized most markedly in the group of the egg albumin with histamin, while it was not or almost not noticeable in the group of the egg albumin with hyaluronidase.
    2. The proliferations of the epithelium were recognized most remarkably in the group of the egg albumin with hyaluronidase, while it was not or almost not noticeable in the group of the egg albumin with histamin.
    3. The basement membrane was thin at the region with exfoliation of epithelium, and the bas- ement membrane was thickend at the region with proliferation of epithelium.
    4. The localized thickening of mucous memb- rane was seen frequently in the region with proli- feration of epithelium, and not at all in the region with exfoliation of epithelium.
    5. The localized thickening of mucous menb- rane showed a form of edematous nasal polyp, This was not frequenty.
    6. The localized thickening of mucous memb- rane was seen sometimes in the non-sensitized groups.
    7. The inflammation stimulates the mucous membrane and causes the nasal polyp, as well as allergy.
    8. DOCA stimulates inflammatory process, while cortison moderates it. This fact suggests that the constitution would have some effect upon the course of rhinosinuitis.

The humidification in nasal cavity was inves- tigated in various conditions with a quickly reac- ting electric hygrometer. The inspiratory air in the pharynx was sampled through the electrically hea- tened vinyl tube only at inspiratory phase. The humidity in healthy persons (N-group) was 31.8± 1.0mmHg, 30.5±0.6mmHg in sinusitis before opera- tion (E), 29.1 ±0.6mmHg in sinusitis after operation (OE), 23.8±1.0mmHg in atrophic rhinitis before operation (A), 28.0+1.6mmHg in atrophic rhinitis after operation (OA).
In addition to bilateral natural respiration, we examined the state of unilateral respiration, adre- nalin-insufflated and atropin-injected states.
The following conclusions were obtained :
    1) N-group shows the highest figure, A-group the lowest. E-, OE-, and OA-groups between them, and differences between these all groups are statistically significant.
    2) Differences between natural and adrenalin. insufflated states are significant in N-, E-, and A- groups.
    3) Differences between bilateral and unilateral nasal respiration are significant only in N-group.
    4) Differences between natural and atropin-injec- ted states are not significant.
    5) The humidifying capacity in atrophic rhinitis is increased largely by Kubo's operation.
That humidification in nasal cavity was influen- ced by the form of the nasal cavity and that it was also closely connected with the reserve humi- difying capacity and the compensation by expiratory air was discussed.

A case of recidive nasopharynx angiofibroma developing in different locality was seen in a case of a 17 year old male.
At the age of 10, he had developed a right side nasopharynx angiofiroma, and was given radon seed therapy.
At 17, angiofibroma developed on the left side of the nasopharynx wall. Therapy of Co60 needle radiation, sex hormone, followed with extirpation by Denker's operation was caried ont.
A few recidivity of nasopharynx angiofibroma can be found in the medical reports, but all cases reported were in the same or seemingly same locations. No reports can be found dealing with recidive case as seen in this case.
Administering of sex hormone did not show any clear effect in this case.

The causes of speech disorders were studied in 127 children who had consulted our speech and hearing clinic for children with complaint of retarded onset or development of speech during the period from November 1961 through August 1962. Diagnosis was made on the basis of history, physical examination, various methods of audiometry and mental development tests, and the following results were obtained :
    (1) Out of a total of 127 children, 27 or 21.3 per cent were hearingimpaired children without mental deficiency (Group I) ; 18 or 14.3 per cent either hearingimpaired or mentally deficient children (Group II) ; 42 or 33.1 per cent feeble-minded chi ldren with normal hearing (Group III) ; 9 or 7.1 per cent border line cases without hearing impair ment (Group IV) ; and remaining 31 or 24.4 per cent showed neither hearing disorders nor mental deficiency except retarded development of speech (Group V).
    (2) Blood relation of parents was found more frequently in the hearing-impaired group (Group I & II) than in the normally hearing group (Group III, IV & V).
    (3) Maternal diseases during pregnancy, such as hyperemesis, gestational toxicosis, icterus, genital bleeding, influenza; rubella, etc, were most frequently observed in the mentally retarded group (Group III & IV).
    (4) Pathological delivery, neonatal asphyxia, pre mature infants, various diseases of the central ner vous system in infancy were found most frequently in the feeble-minded group (Group III).
    (5) Postnatal head-injured cases were frequent among the children in the hearing-impaired group (Group I & II).
    (6) Severe dyspepsia or malnutrition during in- fant life was thought to be an important factor among the chidren in the Group V as well as in the Group III.
    (7) People related by blood to the children belonging to the Group V frequently tended to have retarded development of speech or stuttering in past history. The relative number of males and females in this group was approximately 2 boys to one girl.
