The purpose of this study is to grasp the actual conditions of the use of domestic services, to discover the use-factors, and to clarify the use-structure. Part 1 is a report on the factors which were extracted from the analysis of housewives in their use-tendency according to age, family type, occupation, and education.
The results obtained were as follows :
    1) Especially in the services relative to food, the controlling factors of use were at work in the older group.
    2) The promoting factors of use which worked on the younger group were their tendency to convenience and evaluation of quality.
    3) The peculiarities of use-tendency in the single or couple family type were recognized.
    4) In the services relative to clothing, the tendency of those working full-time was remarkable. Evaluation of quality in these worked as the promoting factors of use and caused the use-fixation.
    5) The economic condition of lower educated group worked as the controlling factor of use.

Faculty of Home Economics, Ochanomizu University, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo 112The purpose of this research is to do methodological exploration of the psychodramas for Home Economics in which practice, study and education would be carried out simultaneously.
In this research the author explores the process in which parents-child relations change from the dyadic relations to the triadic relations through some psychodramas based on the Science of Relationships (founded by Prof. Kohei Matsumura). These psychodramas have been played in child clinical activities or in clinical nursery activities in which children, parents and therapists/research workers participated together independently and cooperatively and experienced new human relations. Through these psychodramas parents have come to take roles of “inter-relational” auxiliary-egoes and to develop human relations in daily lives with children and other family members.

Chlorophyl a, vitamin A acetate and Art· 9681 Fluorescin (Merck) emit specific flurescence respectively. In this study these fluorescent substances were used as a marker of oil absorption.
After the ligation of the pyloric region of the mice anesthetized, these fluorescent substances (dissolved in triolein) were given to the mice. Ninety min later, the mice were killed by the dislocation of the cervial vertebrae. Under a fluorescence microscope, many fluorescent minute oil droplets, which were obviously derived from fluorescent substances administered, were observed in the mesogastrium, gastrolienal ligament, thoracic duct, lymphatic vessels of the lung and thymus.
Even in the case of the mouse without the ligation of the pyloric region, many minute oil droplets emitting specific fluorescence were distributed in the mesogastrium and gastrolienal ligament.
Above results prove that triolein could be absorbed from the stomach in the mouse.

Previously we reported that the lipid extracts with hexane/ethanol (79 : 21, v/v) from several edible seaweeds showed potent antioxidativity in linoleic acid-ethanol-water system. In the present study, the antioxidative components in the lipids of Aonori (Enteromorpha sp.) were isolated and identified by silica gel column chromatography, HPLC, NMR and FAB/MS. Among 12 fractions separated by the silica gel column chromatography with hexane, benzene, ether, ethyl acetate and methanol, fraction No. 6 (F6) has the strongest antioxidative activity on dark place with the thiocyanate method. F6-2 was the main antioxidative component in 3 peaks (F6-1, F6-2, F6-3) which were isolated from F6 by the HPLC analysis. From the assignment of chemical shift parameters of 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR, it was considered that the main antioxidative component in F6-2 was derivative of chlorophyll a. According to the molecular ion (872 MH+) of the FAB/MS analysis, it was found that the main antioxidative component in lipids of Aonori was pheophytin a, one of the Mg-free chlorophylls.

In order to clarify the reason of good warmth of silk fabric in low humidity conditions, thickness of the fabric is investigated precisely by measuring compressional property of the fabric in relation to relative humidity. It was shown that the thickness of silk fabric under small pressure became large at low humidity conditions because of changes in characteristics and shapes of silk single fiber. The crimp shrinkage of silk fiber increased and the fiber length along fiber axial direction decreased as decreasing relative humidity. Amplitude and wavelength of the crimp wave are quite random and irregular with one another and silk fiber assemblies are considered to become more bulky at low humidity conditions and this may be one of the reason why silk fabric is preferred mainly for autumn and/or winter clothes in Japan.

The purpose of this study is to obtain some information on the resemblance between the physical type data of female students and the visual evaluation of their silhouetters.
At first, we examined physical type data of 407 female students by the method of principal component analysis.
Secondly, 9 silhouetter photographies are picked out from 407 materials according to the physique classifications. The 9 silhouetter are appraised by paired-comparison method.
The results show that the visual evaluation of silhouetter seems to be identified with common understanding of the standard sensory scale.
