Even though sake consumption is in serious decline in Japan, there are many young people who proactively drink sake in Nagaoka City, located in the central part of Niigata Prefecture.
In this study, I conducted questionnaires and semi-structured interviews with young people in their 20's and 30's living in Nagaoka City to understand their tastes and preferences with sake. Then I attempted to extract the design materialities for sake’s labels or packages that will encourage young people's interest through mixed analysis of this information.
As a result, two types of design materialities were presented: the sensory factor that visibility or figurative expressions that allow intuitive understanding and image of the different properties of each brand of sake, and the morphological factor that scales out a variety of sake bottle sizes.
It was provided that clear that these two elements need to be utilized in the labeling and packaging of sake, rather than adopting one or the other.

This study analyzes from the perspective of production, use and storage of Miao’s “BAI NIAO YI”, and draws the following conclusions. (1) The production of BAI NIAO YI reflects that the Miao people inherit the wisdom of using natural materials such as bamboo leaves, feathers, branches and chaff from generation to generation through "circular sericulture".(2)There are four types of wearing order of BAI NIAO YI in G (Guzang Festival), F (Funeral) and W (wedding): ①G(for male)・G(for male); ②G(for male)・ W(for bride)・G(for male); ③G(for male)・F (for male); ④ G(for male)・W(for bride)・F(for male).(3)The method of keeping and inheriting BAI NIAO YI from generation to generation strengthens the relationship between family generations.(4)To sum up, “BAI NIAO YI” assumes the important role of continuing to pass on the symbiosis, coexistence and co-creation of the Miao people lifestyle constructed through people, things and objects.

Cipe Pineles (1908-1991) was active in the publishing industry of the United States after World War II and played an important role during the period of economic growth and social adversity in the 20th century. One of her contributions was her involvement in the editing work for popular periodicals, especially fashion magazines targeting young women, that were newly emerging at the time. As the first female art director to edit a number of magazines, Pineles' work focused on teenage girls and working women, a group that had not previously received social or economic attention, and created a new visual culture in postwar United States. While she made numerous achievements in the graphic design industry and played a pioneering role in the advancement of women into society, she also struggled with the stress of her work and her happiness as a woman, and attempted suicide. Pineles' life is not only a precedent of a successful designer, but also a thought-provoking story for today's society dealing with sexism and social issues. This paper reveals the achievements of Pineles, who laid the foundation for the creation of new popular magazines and created the history of design for women.

This study aims to grasp the current status of efforts to solve social issues in traditional craft producing areas through a questionnaire survey targeting traditional craft producers in the 7 prefectures of Kyushu. Furthermore, by focusing on the basic attributes of the production area and the relationship with the business situation, and performing analyses using cross tabulations, the author extracts relationships that cannot be found from simple tabulations.
In particular, the author finds the association of businesses that are calling on employees to promote the active participation of women with positive factors such as "ordinary profits are flat or increasing." The analyses above lead to the suggestion that various efforts to solve social issues are effective for the issue of survival of traditional craft production areas.
It will be necessary to extract and examine the factors that will lead to the effectiveness of solving the problems of traditional craft production areas through surveys on actual efforts.

Vehicle detectors are installed at intervals of about 2 km on intercity expressways for the purpose of measuring traffic conditions and providing information. The congestion information is provided in characters and colors, so it is difficult to imagine the actual traffic flow. If this data can be used to reproduce traffic flow CG videos, it will help the driver's intuitive understanding. However, it is not efficient to generate the CG movie for each measurement data. Therefore, we tried to group the traffic flow images. As a result of the similarity experiment with vehicle speed and traffic density as variables, it was found that in the high-speed range the traffic flow image affects the traffic density and in the low-speed range the vehicle speed. Similarly, it was found that the difference in the image of the large vehicle contamination rate was small, and we found that the difference could be recognized by a change in the large vehicle contamination rate of about 20%.
