This study aimed to examine the factors that affect the overall satisfaction of smartphone applications from the user satisfaction of a chronological evaluation. These factors were examined from two perspectives: first, the potentiality of applying Daniel Kahneman’s Peak–End rule to user experience (UX) of smartphone applications, and second, the consideration of other factors that affect overall satisfaction. The explanatory parameters were considered from the chronological evaluation that each moment is evaluated on a 7-point satisfaction level. A hierarchical multiple regression analysis was conducted on Step 1, which was based on the Peak–End rule, and Step 2, which was based on the other factors. The results revealed that the Peak-End rule has the potentiality to be applied to the UX of smartphone applications.

The objective of this study is to understand the characteristics of the stands, location and operations management, and to clarify the awareness of the owners for each type of audience seats, positioning it as a basic study to examine the sustainable management of the first-class official athletics stadiums.
They can be roughly divided into two types according to audience seats. Next, we set items and categories of the stands, location, and operation management, and grasped the characteristics of each type. It was found that the facilities with all chair seating were found to be used more often to accommodate spectators. Furthermore, we conducted an survey of awareness with the owners to understand satisfaction with the owned facilities and future services. Facilities with lawn seats were less interested in hosting large scale conventions, while those with all chair seating were more willing to be used for multiple purposes.

In this study, it was assumed that the quality of the interior space can be improved while reducing the amount of plastic used for furniture and interior design, by replacing it with natural materials. As a result of selecting a sheet-shaped natural material and evaluating the properties, it was clarified that the wood thread cloth, the bamboo cloth, and the Japanese paper cloth have similar or superior properties. Based on this result, we proposed a wood thread fabric similar to the commercially available furniture material and a storage furniture made of Japanese paper fabric with a sense of quality not found in the commercially available furniture material, and an interior wall panel made of Japanese paper fabric and bamboo fabric. As a result, it was possible to show a method of replacing both the furniture material and the wall panel material with natural materials, suggesting the possibility of reducing the amount of plastic in the interior space.

This paper intends to substantiate that design increases corporate value as a source of industrial competitiveness. We conduct an event study on newspaper reports of international design awards between 2001 and 2020.
The Average Cumulative Abnormal Return, ACAR(0,1) was 1.02%, which is smaller than the results of existing study. By design award, overreaction and its correction were observed in the red dot award, with a ACAR of 1.53%, and underreaction was observed in the iF design award, with a ACAR of 0.22%.
Cumulative Abnormal Return, CAR(0,1) showed a gradual increase over time. By design award, there was a gradual downward trend for the Red Dot Award and a gradual upward trend for the iF Design Award.
We may assume that receiving an international design award increases the value of company through the evaluation by investors, and that the evaluation has gradually become more appropriate.

The purpose of this study is to extract the morphological elements that make up the shape of the traditional tool "winnowing basket" and quantitatively elucidate how these elements affect the forms by reproducing the shape as a 3D CAD model for the future simulation to understand its engineering characteristics. Some representative winnowing baskets stored in the National Research Institute for Cultural Properties, National Institutes for Cultural Properties has been measured and rebuilt. At first, based on the results of principal component analysis on the acquired morphologies and the advice from experts, the three winnowing baskets respectively replying to three representative weaving methods which were "stitched ajiro", "braided ajiro", and "braided gozame", have been selected. These three winnowing baskets were applied for the morphological analysis and rebuilding. Then, a set of the feature curves was extracted from the acquired geometric models. These curves show the cross-sectional shape of each part of the winnowing baskets. Finally, it was confirmed that the main morphological features have been reproduced by comparing the shape of the winnowing baskets with the rebuild CAD model.

This study investigated time tracking as a method for improving lifestyle habits, with a special focus on a timetracking tool for the elderly. First, we reviewed case studies of time-tracking surveys conducted in the public and private sectors in Japan and overseas in order to clarify the categories and methods used. Next, we identified the functions of time-tracking apps for personal health management. We also interviewed elderly people about their concerns and what they kept track of in their daily lives in order to clarify the recording media and categories they used. Based on the results, we determined the requirements and developed a prototype time-tracking tool for the elderly. We asked elderly volunteers to use the tool and evaluated changes in their awareness of lifestyle habits by administering a questionnaire before and after they used the tool. A significant improvement was observed in half of the participants, suggesting that this tool might be used to improve lifestyle habits in elderly people.
