The aged society is becoming an issue all over the world, causing the middle age nowadays not only have occupational stress to deal with, but also need to be taking care of the elders at home. However, IoT and the development of smarthome control system may be the solution to this problem. This research consists of two open-ended interviews which explore the life style and needs of the senior citizens in Taiwan and concludes what aspects do the caregivers consider the most important in daily life. The result will be used as the core in future smarthome control system designs, hoping to reduce the stress of the middle age caregivers and also improve senior citizens’ ability of taking care of themselves.
Hair straighteners are necessary tools for hairdressers; however, extensive use of such tools can cause damage to the hand. This study explored the handle shape and gripping comfort of hair straighteners. The handle was improved in terms of its diameter, width, and grip angle, and ergonomic experiments were conducted to compare the improved handle with those of commonly used straightener products. The results verified that the aforementioned improvement effectively alleviated problems concerning hair straightener use and enhanced the convenience and comfort of users. Therefore, the study results can serve as a reference for proposing new design that addresses the gripping comfort of hair straighteners.
本稿では、今年度本校で実施した「PBL（project based learning）の質向上のための評価方法の検討」の内容と実施方法について報告する。「人間的な成長」と「デザインスキルの向上」をPBLの目的と設定し、その目的に対してどういった課題があるのかを洗い出すため、多面的な方向からの評価をまとめた。 その結果、教員が見かけの成果に振り回されずPBLをデザインすることが大事であるということに気づくことができた。
This study aims to investigate and compare the influence of multimedia teaching materials on the learning motivation of students in the industrial design modelling hands-on course. Taking the first-grade students of the Department of Industrial Design at Tatung University in Taiwan, with no prior knowledge of model-making hands-on course, randomly assigned a group of experimental groups for multimedia teaching, and the other class as a control group for traditional teaching. As a result, students receiving multimedia teaching become more able to accept challenges in the hands-on course and believe that they are capable to achieve the goal of skill acquisition in modeling making classes. Furthermore, students of the experimental group are willing to set higher goals, make more efforts and behave more aggressively and persistently in learning new concepts and solving problems when facing obstacles during skill learning.
