Improvement of glass-land in one of the most important problems in our agriculture. So it is necessary to investigate the natural vegetation first. We chose KOMONO clearing, belonging to Ando soil, as one of the typical areas seemed to need urgent improvement. We divided this area into five regions according with the soil character and utilization of them, and investigated its native grasses. The results are shown in Table 2 and 3. 1) Throughout all regions, we found plenty of the plant species belonging to such a family as Composisite, Cyperaceae and Gramineae. 2) There was no differentiated distribution of Compositae within all regions, but Cyperaceae and Gramineae were more abudant in the cultivated land than in the unultivated one. 3) In KOMON, we found a number of calcifuge plants. They are Rumex Acetosella, Cardamine flexuosa, Drosera peltata Sm. var. lunata Clarke, D. rotundifolia, Juncus effusus L. var. decipens Buchen, flora of Cyperus, Digitaria ciliaris. Eguisetum arvense, Lycopodium clavatum, L. inundatum, Carex, Scirpus erectus, Festuca ovina L. var. vulgaris Koch, Sphagnum, Polytrichum, Chestnut and Japanese Red Pine etc.
