The Authors have already described a micro-computer controlled Dynamic Refractometer with efficient alingnment device and proposed to use AA (Accommodation Area) as a measure to objectify visual fatigue. This paper reports on a small modification of the system and checks the validity of the method through two experiments.
The main results are as follows: (1) the method has potential ability to objectify visual fatigue, (2) the AA has a rhythm of a day similar to well known circadian rhythm which clarify the need of consideration in interpreting the AA, (3) CFF of positive display mode is higher by about 12Hz than that of negative mode, (4) the positive display mode CRTs seems better than that of negative display mode provided that their refresh rates are somewhat faster than their CFF levels.
