A new 3-dimensional task analysis system was developed, which replaces conventional methods for task analysis in industries using stop watches or video cameras. An analytical software of it was developed and its measuring performance was evaluated.
The results can summarized as follow. (1) a receiver with capability of detecting vertical positions was developed, in addition to conventional receiver for horizontal direction, so that 3-dimensional measurement of postures such as standing or sitting on a chair is possible. (2) a system was constructed with which the heart rates or the Relative Metabolic Rates (RMR) can be measured in relation with 3-dimensional human behavior performance, and (3) collect task analysis data for the entire process from the beginning to the end of the job in relation to the work processes and layout of tools.
