JOURNAL FREE ACCESSThe aim of this paper is to determine a good measurement method and condition of CFF which is of use estimating a magnitude of psychic fatigue. CFF is measured by four measurement methods: a method of adjustment, a modified method of adjustment, a method of limits and a constant method. Four stimulus variables of luminance (120cd/m2 and 530cd/m2), size (0.5°, 1°and 2.5°), color (green, yellow and red) and presentation (monocular and binocular) are investigated. The results showed that (1) method of limits gave the smallest variance; (2) test stimulus of 530cd/m2 produced a greater reduction in CFF than that of 120cd/m2; (3) test stimulus of 1°produced a smaller variance than that of 2.5°and a greater reduction in CFF than that of 0.5°; (4) there was no significant difference of magnitude and variance among three colors of green, yellow and red; (5) there was no significant difference of magnitude and variance between monocular and binocular.View full abstractDownload PDF (1016K) -

JOURNAL FREE ACCESSThe relations between emotions and accoustical features of voice sounds have been discussed. In this paper, the waves of single vowels [e] with emotions and without them are analyzed. Thus timeseries of parameters, such as amplitude and pitch period, are measured. The emotions treated here are “surprise”, “joy”, “anger”, and “disgust”. As the results, the values of some characteristic features, such as range or change rate, are different between the emotions.
Then from the results of the analysis sound waves are synthesized with varying change rate of pitch period and of slope of spectral envelop. Using these sounds, the listening tests are carried out. The results show that in the cases of “surprise”, the change rate of pitch period has a relation with the results of the listening tests.View full abstractDownload PDF (689K)
