    This paper describes the results of two-axis manual tracking control systems each of which consists of two single-axis systems, by using a complex display and operation. The results of experiment is carried out comparing pursuit and compensatory tasks are described. The results are as follows:
    1). Results by pursuit and compensatory manual tracking control well agree with each other.
    2). Results of horizontal axis manual tracking control agree with those of vertical axis control.
    3). The control performance including different controlled systems on the two axes is inferior to that including identical system.
    4). A human operator provide for cosiderable ability to decouple the crosscoupling between horizontal and vertical controlled systems.

    In this paper, experimental studies on pilot's control ability of second-order-system are presented. This system is consisted of a fundamental controlled element as an airplane short-period-dynamics, in conjunction with three different sets of simulated transfer function corresponding to an airplane control system. As the results of the experiment using fixed-base simulator, the influence of the controlled element parameter for pilot's control is evaluated.

    Using 18 male subjects aged from 22 to 29, chanes in the level of consciousness as determined by continuous recording of EEG, ECG and EOG were investigated during normal driving on ordinary roads. Six of the subjects showed a drop in cosciousness as indicated by a temporary appearance of alpha waves of 8-13Hz. Such waves appeared most frequently during driving soon after the noontime meal. It was postulated that they were a kind of temporary psychological relaxation produced by a number of factors including mental fatigue, drop in the will to drive due to habituation, and effects of the circadian rhythms. It is concluded that special attention must be paid to combination of those multiple factors which increase drivers, reliability to a temporary decline in the level of awareness.

    This paper is described for a trial manufacture of apparatus produced tactile stimulus and an example of experiments used such apparatus.
    In the past the apparatuses of these kinds are marketable for visual and auditory sensation, but they are not for tactile sensation. This apparatus consists of a control unit of operator, a response unit of subject and a presentation unit of stimulus, which are connected one another by electric circuits. Stimuli (specimens) attached to the 8-sided drum Pare presented at random to the subject and they are discriminated after recognized by the subject continuously.
    This apparatus can use for the inspection of discrimination by tactile sensation and makes it possible to determine quantitatively the learning effect of the test, the ability of reappearance of discrimination, the frequencies of right and mistaken responses and so on. For the future the study used this apparatus seems to be possible generally in the fields of discriminating by tactile sensation such as clothes, papers and others.

    Two experiments were conducted to investigate the effects of key-arrangements on a keyboard upon key-punching operations. Ten-by-ten matrices in which each one hundred of numerals from zero to ninety-nine were arranged were used as the experimental materials. Detection times of the given figures in the matrices were measured as the function of the numeral arrangements which were varied in a systematic way. The matrix was partitioned into some parts, in which the assigned numerals were arranged randomly while the assignments of numerals were in order or at random according to the experimental design. By varying the numerals of partitions the orderliness of arrangements were changed systematicaly. It is shown that figure detection time has some systematic relations with the orderliness of arrangements and that numbers of elements near and below ten in each part may be critical numbers in such a type of detection task so that detecting behavior undergoes qualitative changes over such critical numbers.
